Summer update

The summer has not brought many updates. It is unfortunate, but time for holidays and recovery was equally important, just as figuring out whether the right parts of our project to improve federation and interoperability of events are prioritized.

Have I clarified our stance on LLMs already? I certainly don’t see any potential ethical use of those (especially proprietary) LLMs out there. I consider most of the use cases not to be sustainable and in favor for the public benefit in the big picture or long run as well.

So should we continue contributing to projects that have been going all in including “AI” in nearly all parts of their development process? E.g. contributing to GatherPress and writing a companion plugin for it to support all features Mobilizon does and has on their roadmap? The WordPress world itself also makes me doubt a lot these days too. We have reached out to find some council. Happy to hear your opinions, too.

However, some work has been done! In the next weeks we will publish a revised version of our Fediverse enhancement proposals. Important feedback and resources have been taking into account to ensure not to oversee past important results that have already made in related fields, like the iCal extension world, e.g. the extension that defines CONCEPT.
